‘Elks brighten lives’ with food pantry grant

More than 200 members of the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge 1896, in North Wildwood, marched in the Elks Parade, June 7, alongside a colorful float that boasted how “Elks Brighten Lives.” Last week, the Elks proved that point again by donating $9,800 to help feed the hungry at the First Call for Help food pantry in Wildwood. Rubber ducks kick-off summer at Beach Blast

A flock of new rubber ducks is getting in shape for the 2008 Rubber Ducky Regatta, so they flew into Wildwood this week for a beachfront practice with the Cape Express Cyclones. The new duckies will be on Wildwood’s beach again at the Beach Blast Soccer Tournament, June 28 – 29, to help the United Way of Cape May County “kick off” the summer season. Read more…

Cape Classic Motorcycle Club Named Donor of the Year

Cape Classic Motorcycle Club was honored as United Way donor of the year for donating the proceeds of a motorcycle raffle held during last year’s Roar to the Shore. The contribution of $20,000 was the single greatest contribution the agency has ever received, and it will go a long way toward meeting the United Way’s goal of improving lives for local residents, Executive Director Suzanne Nardi said. United Way Honors Community Leaders/Volunteers

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the United Way in Cape May County, and last month they celebrated by recognizing the important contributions that volunteers, donors and businesses make toward their goal of making life better for county residents.

The “Starfish Awards Ceremony” was held at the Bolero, in Wildwood, and Executive Director Suzanne Nardi thanked those in attendance for their hard work and support. Read more…
