Cape Classic Motorcycle Club was honored as United Way donor of the year for donating the proceeds of a motorcycle raffle held during last year’s Roar to the Shore. The contribution of $20,000 was the single greatest contribution the agency has ever received, and it will go a long way toward meeting the United Way’s goal of improving lives for local residents, Executive Director Suzanne Nardi said.
“Their generosity is nothing short of amazing,” Nardi said.
The award was given at this year’s Starfish Awards Ceremony, which recognized outstanding volunteers.
Cape Classic Motorcycle Club is a Cape May County organization of motorcycle enthusiasts, who believe in giving back to the community. Throughout the year, they raise money at various events and donate the proceeds to local charities, needy families, and civic organizations. They sponsor a number of charity drives for local children and they host the annual Roar to the Shore motorcycle rallies, which is quickly becoming one of the largest in New Jersey. In the last few years attendance at the rally has grown from hundreds to thousands, bringing an economic boon for local business owners.
Plans for this year’s Roar at the Shore on Sept. 4-7 are in progress, and include the second annual Rubber Ducky Boardwalk ride. Check out roartotheshoreonline.com for details as they become available.
