Superfresh donates reusable bags to United Way pantry
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
Superfresh, in Cape May Court House, is helping out its neighbors, while helping out in the environment. The store donated a generous supply of reusable shopping bags to the United Way of Cape May County’s First Call for Help food pantry.
Superfresh Baker, Danielle Hinds, Assistant Director, Ray Peters, and Front End Clerk, Sue String, show off the eco-friendly Elizabeth Haub shopping totes that the Superfresh donated to the United Way for use in its food pantry.
The pantry provides food and other basic needs to help local residents through difficult times. The new bags will be filled with non-perishable food items and distributed at the United Way headquarters at the First Baptist Church, on Maple Avenue in Wildwood, on Thursdays. Clients can then bring the bags back to be refilled, greatly reducing the amount of plastic and paper bags the pantry uses.
“We were wasting a lot of plastic grocery bags,” Nardi said. “But thanks to Superfresh we can help those who need it without hurting the environment.”
