United Way of Cape May County is again gearing up for the Rubber Ducky Regatta, the annual fundraiser and community event, where a flock of rubber duckies race around Morey’s Endless River to win hundreds of prizes for their sponsors.
The race takes place on Aug. 10, but until then, the United Way needs a clean and convenient place to store and organize the ducks, and Molly and Ed Wisely, of Coastline Heating and Cooling, in Burleigh, came to the rescue by donating storage space.
Suzanne Nardi, executive director of the United Way of Cape May County introduces Molly Wisely and MiMi Shevlin, of Coastline Heating and Cooling, to their newest tenants—thousands of rubber duckies, who are looking for new homes.
“The ducks don’t eat much and they don’t make a lot of noise, but finding temporary homes for thousands of them can be a challenge,” Nardi said. “Coastline’s generous donation of storage space will really help us get through this busy time.”
Ducks are available for “adoption” from many local businesses for a $5 fee, and by sponsoring a duck you get a chance to win hundreds of prizes. Plus, it helps the United Way of Cape May County provide the services so many residents count on.
