Healthcare costs are proving to be a top concern for American families, and Cape May County residents are no exception. Many local residents have insufficient coverage, no prescription coverage or need medications not covered by their insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or VA benefits.
As a result, some families are faced with tough choices every day between their health and making ends meet. Some make due by reducing the required dosage, while others don’t buy the medicine they need at all.
“It’s serious issue that faces many local families,” United of Cape May County, Executive Director, Suzanne Nardi said, “but now thanks to the Family Wize Prescription Drug Savings Program, we are in a position to help ease that burden a bit.”
The United Way is partnering with Family Wize to distribute discount cards to county residents that will enable them to cut their prescription drug costs by as much as 35 percent at dozens of local participating pharmacies.
The cards are available free-of-charge through the United Way to all Cape May County residents. There are no age restriction, no income restrictions, no limit on how many times you can use it and no waiting to get a card.
Discounts are available to those without health insurance, as well as those with insurance who need to pay medication costs not covered by their plan.
Cards are available through the United Way to individuals as well as businesses who want to help their employees save on prescription drug expenses.
