ACCC Students Help OutAtlantic Cape Community College’s Campus Ambassadors ended 2008 by helping local students to start the New Year with new school supplies. Throughout the fall semester, the students collected notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, backpacks and other items, and in December, they delivered them to United Way of Cape May County headquarters, where they will be distributed to Glenwood Avenue Elementary School students who need them.

The mission of ACCC’s Campus Ambassador Program is “to bring college and community together,” and the group’s members work all year long to build bridges between the county residents and the county community college. They offer campus tours to potential students, volunteer at open houses, and hold food and drives aimed at bettering the community.

“It is so important that young people like ACCC’s Campus Ambassadors get involved in giving back,” United Way Executive Director Suzanne Nardi said. “They are the future of our community.”
