Starbucks

Starbucks, of Rio Grande, is keeping Cape May County residents warm and nourished this holiday season–in more ways than one.

Throughout the winter, Starbucks is collecting non-perishable food items for the United Way of Cape County’ First Call for help Food Pantry, and on Saturdays throughout December, they are rewarding the generosity of their loyal customers by offering a free tall coffee to those who donate three items to help the county’s less fortunate.

Plus on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 1-3 p.m., Starbucks will be keeping the county warm down to its toes with a holiday party and sock drive. Customers who donate a pair of new socks to the United Way during the party can get a one-of- a-kind Christmas photo taken with United Way mascot, Captain Quackers.

Starbucks, in the Route 9 shopping center in Rio Grande, offers its customers a convenient place to refuel during a busy day of Christmas shopping and a place to celebrate the spirit of giving by making a donation to the United Way.

This is the second year in a row that Starbucks has partnered with the United Way to “warm up” Cape May County during the holiday season.

“We are grateful to Starbucks for its ongoing support of our mission to help make life better for Cape May County residents,” United Way Executive Director Suzanne Nardi said. “The items donated to our food pantry go a long way in helping local residents in crisis to get back on their feet.”

“Heat and eat” items like soup, stew and canned noodle and meat dishes that can be prepared on a stovetop or in a microwave are greatly appreciated, as are donations of diapers, personal care items and powdered milk.
