Fitzpatrick’s Crest Tavern hosts Give Back Day

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Fitzpatrick's Crest Tavern hosts Give Back DayThe HOT LUNCH program provided by the Cape May County United Way has lost its grant and is in need of some local support!

In effort to help, Fitzpatrick’s Crest Tavern is holding a Give-Back Day for the United Way on May 20 from 6-9 p.m.–a family-friendly barbecue fundraiser to help keep the pantry in business.

Spanky’s BBQ will be providing a good old-fashioned barbecue dinner for a donation of $10 or more to the United Way. There will be fun, prizes and give-always, including a chance to win two Phillies tickets. Plus it’s a chance to give back to an organization that helps so many in our community.

The State is slashing budgets, but those in need still require a helping hand. The United Way has never needed your support more than now. Please stop by to help. Call 609-729-2002 for more information.

Crest Tavern Tailgate Party to Benefit United Way

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

CrestTavernAre you ready for some football? Support your Philadelphia Eagles and the United Way of Cape May County at a tailgate party at Fitzpatrick’s Crest Tavern.

Fitzpatrick’s Crest Tavern is partnering with the United Way during the Fifth Annual United Way Tailgate Party on Oct. 26. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. for the Eagles/Redskins football game and will feature Spanky’s Barbeque, prizes and giveaways.

Tim and Lisa Fitzpatrick, who spearhead the event, urge the community to support those in need as much as they support their Philadelphia sports teams.

Patrons are asked to drop by at the party with a reusable bag filled with personal care items that can help ease the burden for United Way clients. These include: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, new socks, underwear and t-shirts.

Come with personal care items or a minimum $5 donation and help yourself to some Spanky’s Barbeque on the house.

United Way of Cape May County Executive Director Suzanne Nardi thanked the Fitzpatricks for their generosity.

“Especially in these difficult economic times, it is good to know that some businesses will always be there to give back to the community,” she said.

Sunsets and Cigars for a Good Cause

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

sunsetGood company, sunsets over the water, and a chance to sample cigars and wine are just three of the many great reasons to attend the United Way of Cape May County’s Cigar and Wine Dinner on Thursday, May 14, 6-10 p.m. at the Greater Wildwood Yacht Club, 6510 Park Blvd, Wildwood Crest.

Another reason to attend is the good feeling that comes from supporting the important work that the United Way does in the community. And tickets are still available. Spanky’s Barbeque will provide a delicious meal, and fun prizes from local businesses will be auctioned off throughout the evening.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by calling the United Way at 609-729-2002.
