The 15th Annual Rubber Ducky Regatta went great and we would like to thank everyone that volunteered on race day. We couldn’t do it without all of you so thanks for all your help!

Comfort and joy served up at United Way’s hot lunch program

The holidays may be over, but every Thursday, the spirit of giving is still going strong at the United Way of Cape May County’s hot lunch program. With winter winds blowing outside, some county residents can barely afford the cost of housing and heating, and other necessities like food can be difficult to come by.

For some, the hot lunch served every Thursday in the First Baptist Church community room on Maple Avenue, is the only hot, nutritious meal they eat all week, and it’s a rare chance to relax with friends and enjoy their company. Read more…

A call for help from the United Way pantry

“Mother Hubbard’s cupboards are bare,” said Suzanne Nardi, the Executive Director of the United Way of Cape May County, and the number of residents, who come to the United Way’s First Call for Help food pantry, on Maple Avenue in Wildwood, is increasing every week.

The pantry, which opens every Thursday morning at 10 a.m., provides dozens of residents with the food they need to get by, supplies are dwindling. Read more…
